2014 “The Magic is You!” Luncheon Highlights

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Collier County’s annual Hope Shines luncheon was held on December 5, 2014. Event chairs, Lindy and Lindsey Thomas report that “The Magic is You!” themed event, featuring a strong message of hope, was held at a private club in Naples. They noted, with 400 people attending, “It truly was magical bringing so many people together to support the vital work provided by NAMI to the children and families in Collier County.”

Youth Mental Health First Aid on Saturday, August 23rd from 8am – 4pm

NAMI will offer Youth Mental Health First Aid on Saturday, August 23rd from 8am – 4pm. The class will be held at the NAMI conference room at 6216 Trail Blvd, Naples, 34108.  The nonrefundable fee for the class is $25 to cover materials and must be paid in advance.  Each participant will receive a Youth Mental Health First Aid manual and certificate that is valid for 3 years.  For information about Mental Health First Aid, please see the attached flier or call for more information. As you know, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is our club’s charity. Through the generosity of many of our members, Grady Fest attendees, and supporting Grady White dealers here in Florida, we were able to donate $16,000 to NAMI from the proceeds of this year’s Grady Fest. This is truly an outstanding effort and everyone who helped in making the Grady Fest a hugh success (all you red hats), deserves a great round of applause.
