Fight for the future of mental health care

Senators are back from July 4th recess, where they heard from advocates like you about the harmful consequences of the Senate health reform bill (the Better Care Reconciliation Act).

Thank you for speaking up, but the fight is not over. The future of mental health coverage is being decided right now.

Currently, 1 in 5 Americans live with a mental illness, but only half get needed treatment. This bill will make it even harder for people to get psychiatric medications, case management and mental health services.

If this bill passes, millions of Americans will lose coverage for mental health care.

Mental Health Awareness Month in May was an opportune time to honor mental health heroes.

That includes brain science researchers searching for mental health breakthroughs, diagnostic capabilities and patient-specific remedies; first responders who take crisis intervention training courses and learn how to safely defuse a volatile mental health crisis, and the many grass-roots mental health advocates and nonprofits striving locally and nationally to deliver effective mental health programs and services.

“STEPS OF HOPE” — 16th Annual Walk to be Held Saturday, February 17, 2018

 
Please join us at Cambier Park in Naples for this 2.5 mile walk.
Registration begins at 8:00am / Event begins at 8:30am
Walk begins at 9:30am / Scheduled to end by 11:30m.
Choose how you want to participate in this always fun community event — filled with food, games, and entertainment for the whole family. Form or join a team, help us obtain Walk sponsors, or volunteer at the event.
