Due to our fundraising efforts, NAMI is able to provide $20,000 a year for emergency psychiatric appointments, medications and housing needs. This is vital to persons who have a diagnosis or are in crisis and needing a diagnosis. While open to the public, priority is given to mental health needs. We keep a careful log with a request form, and also document follow up. Assistance is not given directly to the person, but for example a check is written to the pharmacy.
