F2F DescriptionF2F RegistrationThe NAMI Family-to-Family Education Program is a free, 12-week program for families and caregivers of individuals with severe mental illnesses.

It is taught by trained family members who have experienced what it’s like to have a family member with mental illness. Nationwide, over 300,000 family members have graduated from this program. Many describe their experience as life-changing. Class size is limited to 20 to ensure a meaningful experience.

  • Schizophrenia
  • Major depression
  • Bipolar disorder (manic depression)
  • Panic disorder
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder
  • Borderline personality disorder
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Co-occurring brain disorders
  • Addictive disorders

  • Up-to-date information about medications and side effects
  • Current research related to the biology of the brain
  • Gaining empathy
  • Learning problem-solving
  • Listening and communication techniques
  • Learning strategies for handling crises and relapse
  • Taking care of yourself as caregiver
  • Guidance on locating support and services within the community
  • Advocacy initiatives designed to improve and expand services
