Due to generous underwriting from the Tommy August Memorial Fund and other fundraising efforts, NAMI-CC provides $30,000 annually in Emergency Care Support. Assisting people served throughout our programming areas with short-term solutions to emergency situations.
This support, available to both individuals and families, is carefully documented, requiring a request process, direct payment made to the vendor / supplier, and a receipt procedure that ensures the funding is being used to eliminate barriers in addressing mental health needs.
We help in many ways: providing housing assistance, money for needed medications, a bus pass or other transportation to get to a doctor’s appointment or help with treatment co-pays. Sometimes helping families purchase “work” clothes to start a new job, replace an outgrown school uniform, or buy basic necessities like enough diapers to make it through the week. Offering a helping hand when it is needed most to people on their personal journey of resilience and recovery.
