2015 Annual NAMI Walk Magic Continues

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Collier County successfully hosted their 13th annual Walk on Saturday, March 21, 2015 in Cambier Park in Naples. Nearly 600 proud supporters flooded the sunny park for the ‘The Magic is You’ themed event, which was able to raise an incredible total of nearly $100,000. Funds raised during the Walk go directly toward providing and maintaining NAMI’s programs and services.

Grand Marshall, Krista Fogelsong of ABC7, delivered a message of hope, help, and healing to the eager crowd before cutting the ceremonial ribbon to signal the start of the 2.5-mile Walk. Supporters from near and far traveled to Cambier Park to join NAMI of Collier County in spreading a message of hope and mental health awareness.

Several prizes were raffled off to the enthusiastic group, after a thrilling magic show was delivered to hundreds of excited children and adults. As the fun continued around the park, teams visited the on-site photo booth to capture meaningful moments that were shared by all.

The free event was also host to a tremendous amount of free food donated by several generous, local companies, including Wynn’s Catering, Coca Cola, Starbucks, Cheney Brothers, Inc., Jason’s Deli, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Calistoga Bakery Cafe, Einstein Bros Bagels, and Chick-fil-A.

Major sponsors of the event included Team Favoloso, the Tommy August Memorial Fund, and Naples Bingo Palace. Other sponsors that helped to underwrite the cost of the event were The Naples Pilot Club, The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company, The Naples Trust Company, BB&T, Wells Fargo, Naples Daily News, Park Royal Behavioral Health Services, David Lawrence Center, Padulo Privé Marketing, and Sunny 106.3.
