Our Mission: To improve the quality of life for the 1 in 4 families affected by serious mental illnesses, through education, support and advocacy.
We believe that with compassion, caring, and needed support, even individuals with serious mental illnesses can recover and lead autonomous, productive and meaningful lives integrated within their community of choice.
Originally incorporated in Florida in 1987, our Collier County founders were primarily family members of people with living with a mental illness. These early mental health advocates envisioned — and succeeded — in building a movement to refocus the inadequate research and services available to serve those affected within our own community. Today, we represent both individuals and their entire network of loving parents, children, spouses, siblings and friends, as well as mental health professionals and advocates. Working together not only to provide adequate resources and support locally – but to also raise awareness and de-stigmatize mental health issues overall.
Our association with NAMI national (www.NAMI.org), includes us in a network of 1,200 affiliates nationwide, with expanded access to research and programming resources. We are proud that all monies raised locally continue to be used solely to benefit our Florida neighbors in Collier County and the surrounding communities.
